Actually, there are only two systems of salvation being taught in the world today regarding man’s future after death! One is right and the other is wrong. One God teaches us and the other are figments of men’s imaginations.
I. TWO SYSTEM’S OF THEOLOGY EXIST IN THE WORLD.
A. AUTO – SOTERIOLOGY – SELF SALVATION
B. THEO-SOTERIOLOGY – GOD’S – SALVATION
II. DESCRIPTION AND MEANINGS OF THE TERMS:
Driving all of our teachings should be God Himself and His Word, wihch reflects His attributes and character. THEOCENTRIC SALVATION OR REDEMPTION IS WHAT THE SCRIPTURES TEACH US!
GOD IS THE AUTHOR OF SALVATION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH AND NOT OF WORKS BY MAN!
THE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD TO BE REMEMBERED AS WE READ HIS HOLY WORDS INSPIRED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT AND GIVEN TO MAN! THEY ARE:
1. His Omniscience. Corum Dei means ALL seeing eye of a Sovereign God! He knows everything that is to be known. Nothing is new to God! He is never surprised about anything!
2. His Omnipotence. He is all powerful. There are no veto powers existing. We can grieve God but we nor anyone or anything can Stop God from doing what He desires to do!
3. His Omnipresence. This means HE is everywhere at all times!
4. His Immutability. God never changes. He may change His dealings with mankind but HE NEVER changes in His essential essence and character of being. He remains the same! But even those changes He may make dealing with mankind means that in His eternal wisdom and purposes He had planned that before the beginning of all creation.
5. Holy, Love, Wrath, Justice, Grace, Mercy and He is Infinite are some more of His attributes defining His character.
II. BIBLICAL INTERPRETATION RULES OR LAWS!
Loose Hermeneutics (Science of Biblical interpretation), leads to unbelief and rebellion. So great care must be taken as we seek to rightly divide and interpret the scriptures which are the very words of God. It is obvious the truth or the falsity of these divine truths doctrines which we will examine from time to time in the Bible can be decided ONLY by DIVINE REVELATION.
No preson or denomination or sect, has control of such. People’s own personal views of observations and judgments can know what are the basic principles of the PLAN which God is following but philosophical speculation and all abstract reasoning should be laid aside until we hear the testimony of All scripture in context and totality about the subject matter at hand. Then we submit to it as the absolute word of God, the truth! Whether we understand it totally or not!
It is to be remembered as we use the holy scriptures that the ‘notes’ presented in the particular version are NOT the inspired word of God. They may help, or they may lead one into error. Great care must be exercised as one reads the notes in any version of the Bible. Also, commentaries again, or only commentaries of human beings thoughts. How well they were faithful to ALL of the word in Context and its Meaning God intended those words to mean is to be examined before following such.
My personal opinion is to never purchase a Bible version that is put together with the human minister of organization stamped all over it, and it is full of that person(s) or some denominational groups thoughts. They should write their books, commentaries, and articles separate if one would like to read what they think. However, it is not out of line to place a very basic addendum to the scripture pages, such things as maps, words that are shown to be needed in the middle index concerning certain matters of translation etc., and also a index of terms and names. Perhaps a introductory page to begin with regarding how the translation was put together and who did such.
I also would not recommend anyone buying a Scofield Reference Bible regardless of the version. He just has so much information that is just not correct, and is only an opinion and suppositions he came up with which was never taught over the entire course of the scriptures existence. Other verses to can be dangerous. So what versions are more acceptable to me personally over my lifetime of buying and using many of them. After all is said and done, and I have purchased and used many versions from time to time, such as the ESV, NIV, ASV, NASV, Amplified Bible, KJV and NKJV.
I have now chosen to stay with the NKJV, (Remember no Scofield Reference please), because the NKJV remains closest to the Received Text, or Authorized Textus Receptus manuscripts down through history. It also is honest. They put in italics the words that were not in the manuscripts, to show and develop a more readable style. Plus they do not leave out words found in the earliest manuscripts. They let you know they have done that. Others seem not to care about that at all. Then others have been highly influenced by manuscripts that were not reliable, and were found to be established by unbelievers and highly influenced men who did not believe in the Inspired word of God and God’s preservation of such words. I do see the error also of believing the KJV is the only inspired word of God in English. That is not only unreasonable, but actually dangerous because that prevents updating the words which have lost their meanings as time goes forward, and thus presents a false understanding of verses, because they mean exactly the opposite today than they did in the King James days! In its time and setting within early days of the nations development it was fine, but today it is excellent poetic in style and easy to memorize, and is the word of God, but again, we don’t speak like that anymore, and the updates of English word meanings should be corrected. That is what the NKJV has done. It is easy reading, and has the updated modern words which all can understand.
