For the followers and children of God through Christ Jesus the Lord, who saved them, we have promises of God for this very day we live in. In fact, every day of our life on this earth is to be realized as a day that our Lord is with us, protects us, and watches over us. There is a phrase being stated over and over again today that this, “Covid-19 Virus” will change our nation and its people forever. Oh that would! That it would be a “means” God has ordained to draw people to Christ Jesus as Lord, God and Savior! That would be an eternal change! One that is the BEST that could ever happen! But I fear, they are not speaking of this eternal blessed change! This Virus is a INVISIBLE ENEMY! It is LIKE sin in the life of human beings. Sin is invisible, unseen but when it acts out through its fruits, we see the repercussions upon not only each individual, but each individuals sins affecting other individuals creating many types of destructive matters. Examples: murder, rape, physical and emotional abuse, sexual abuse, prostitution, illicit and legal drug abuse, to name a few.
There is no vaccine made by man to correct or heal one of this thing called sin. However, God has the cure. But that cure is NOT totally taken care of within people’s lives until the moment one passes out of this life to the next to be with Jesus Christ, because of their faith and trust in HIM who only can tame the beast and kill it!
The Psalms carries a word of promised which is for all saints in all generations on this planet. The one for today is Psalm 91. I will present each verse and make some comments along the way for our consideration and usage spiritually during this crisis facing our nation, and the world at large.
Verse 1 reads: “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
Comment: The word “those” are people who have placed their faith and trust in the Triune God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the ONE God existing in three persons totally Unified in Perfect agreement on all things with equal power and essence, but desired to function in and with creation in a distinct manner. Here we are shown to have faith and trust in the MOST HIGH God which is a gift from God Himself. Man would NEVER come to Christ on his own, nor could he because he is dead spiritually and incapable of coming to Christ due to Sin and his Deadness. But GOD came and called and chose certain ones down through history to be His people and grants unto them HIS faith. That is HOLY FAITH which is an ability to trust, confide in, rely upon, and devotedly follow God. From this position of Knowing God personally, one finds REST in the unseen God, but here called in that God’s shadow. He is everywhere, but certainly in and near the saints of God who follow Him!
Verse 2: “This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him.”
